Interactive Demonstration of Paper Audit Log
How to Vote on This Machine:
1. After you sign in at the polling place, you’ll receive a Personal Electronic Ballot (“PEB”) from poll worker (see picture above) and insert it into voting machine (upper left portion of machine) to activate onscreen ballot [Note: In some polling places, the poll worker will do this for you.]
2. Do not press the "vote" button on the top of the machine until you make and verify all your choices! Choose a language (where applicable), then make ballot selections by touching the screen at the box that appears next to the name or ballot option you wish to vote for. To change your selection, touch again in the same location to de-select, then make a new choice.
3. Move to the next or previous ballot page using the navigation buttons at bottom of the screen.
4. Carefully review the summary screen after you make all your selections. Changes can be made by navigating back to previous screens.
5. If available, carefully check the Voter-Verifiable Paper Trail. Some iVotronics have a voter-verifiable paper audit trail printer next to the touch screen (pictured above right), known as the Real-Time Audit Log (RTAL). As you are voting, it prints each selection you make.
6. When satisfied with ballot selections, press the “VOTE” button at the top of the machine.
REMEMBER: You have the right to ask for assistance from a poll worker during the voting process. If the poll worker is unable to resolve any machine-related problem you might have, do not cast your ballot on the machine. You have a right to vote on a system that is working. If none is available, an alternative – such as an emergency paper ballot – should be provided.
